Course details
In this course, Aaron F. Ross covers all the features you'll need to start creating advanced 3D models and animation with 3ds Max 2015. Learn the most suitable techniques for modeling different types of objects, from splines and NURBS to polygonal and subdivision surface modeling. Then learn how to design 3D motion graphics, set up cameras, animate with keyframes, and assign constraints. Aaron also provides an overview of lighting scenes within a simple studio setup, and construction of materials with the Slate Material Editor. Finally, learn about your hardware and software rendering options, and make your projects more realistic with motion blur, indirect illumination, and depth of field.Skills covered in this course

Course Transcript
- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Aaron F. Ross. Welcome to 3ds Max 2015 Essential Training. In this course, we're going to take a broad overview of the most commonly needed features. We'll model different types of objects using a variety of techniques ranging from spline and nervous modeling to polygons and subdivision surfaces. In the realm of animation, we'll see how to construct hierarchies, create and edit keyframes, shape function curves and design constraints. Using a simple studio setup, we'll see how to achieve interesting effects with standard 3ds Max lights. No scene is complete without materials, so we'll explore the slate material editor for shading and texturing. Finally, we'll take a look at the options for hardware and software rendering, render an animated sequence and apply special effects such as motion blur, indirect illumination with final gather and depth of field. We're covering a lot of ground in 3ds Max 2015 Essential Training.
